PRESS RELEASE: AUGUST
2008
IVYRISE
New single and tour dates
announced
“I love this band, I can
definitely see them going places” – Jason Nevins
Hot footing the success of their
debut single,
Tips
,
which reached No7 in the UK indie charts in April, the awesome Ivyrise are back
with an even greater second single entitled, ‘
Disguise
’, which smashes onto the UK
music scene on 29th September.
With a string of live dates planned in September to support the new
single, plus mind blowing remixes by the masterful Jason Nevins and a debut
album planned for the new year, the Ivyrise phenomenon is proving to be as
diverse as it is addictively popular.
Ivyrise initially cemented their
worth as a live act in 2007 when they supported Kula Shaker on their UK tour. In
2008, this was trumped by their performance with Bon Jovi at Twickenham Stadium
in front of a 60,000 enraptured crowd.
The band then erupted into the chart arena as their debut single scored
a Top 20 best sellers release with both HMV and 7 Digital, as well as Top 5 on
Radio One’s Independent Chart.
Ivyrise now unleash, ‘
Disguise
’, produced by Paul Simm (Sugar
Babes) and re-worked by the king of remixes, Jason Nevins. Nevins’ credits
include Duran Duran, Kelly Clarkson, N.E.R.D, Leona Lewis, Britney Spears and
Jordin Sparks/Chris Brown and he is most famous for the multi platinum Run DMC
hit
‘Its Like That’
. What’s more he loves Ivyrise and is looking at future writing
projects together. He says: "I love this band, I can definitely see them
going places". With an
inherent skill for combining memorable hooks with engaging lyrics, Ivyrise's
classic British rock sound has led to obvious comparisons with legends like
Oasis and Coldplay.
Ivyrise came to fruition when
front-man, Ben Falinski, met with guitarist, Paul Cronin (aka Cro), through a
University Press advert. They instantly discovered a musical chemistry and the
plans for Ivyrise were forged. The
duo finally teamed up with Liam Malson in London to complete the band. Ivyrise went on to gig at famous London
haunts including, The Dublin Castle and Hope & Anchor before being spotted
at London's Water Rats by Stage Records' boss, Matthew Brown. The band have
since teamed up with producer Paul Simm (whose credits include 'Overload' and
'Run for Cover' by the Sugababes) for their debut album, containing songs which
have already received rave reviews from their 16,000 strong myspace following.
With debut single success
already under their belt, plus a stonkin’ second single and live dates all set
for September, Ivyrise are a British band simply catapulting towards success.
