Giovanna shortlisted for International Short Film Festival
We have some exciting news... Our very own Giovanna has been nominated for the prestigious Moscow Shorts International Short Film Festival for her music video for ‘Can’t Go Back’, directed by Luke Bradford.
The video opens with GIovanna lying on the ground in a forest, holding a snowglobe. We travel inside the snowglobe to find an abandoned church, in which Giovanna plays piano and reminisces about her childhood memories. The song is incredibly emotive, creating an atmosphere of painful longing and bittersweet nostalgia.
It’s not the first time Giovanna’s music has inspired beautiful visual art. The video for ‘Young Heart Player’ sees her musical know-how taken and developed upon by two dancers who choreographed a dance-fight to illustrate the power struggles about which the song speaks. Truly fitting for an artist whose roots lie in cinematic scoring.
